The NWDA was set up to help improve quality of life and economic prosperity in the North West regions. The agency aims to achieve this through driving economic development and regeneration, developing business competitiveness and improving the skills base.
The agency works closely with a range of partners from the public, private and voluntary sectors to achieve a number of agreed objectives set out in a comprehensive economic plan known as the Regional Strategy.
Projects and schemes supported and funded by NWDA are largely delivered by other organisations at sub-regional and local level. The Agency underpins this process with a growing range of innovative services, professional expertise and a proactive management based around a number of inter-linked, operational teams.
Strategic Vision
The context for the Agency's work continues to be the Regional Economic Strategy. The Agency focuses its resources on five objectives:
- Business Development
- Regeneration
- Skills and Employment

The objective is to build sustainable economic growth, a high quality workforce and a region where everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
