Forest Management – Research for the benefit of SMEs
This is an opportunity for partners in the Northwest to join a project to develop an alternative to the traditional field data collecting of forest stands and landscape, using remote sensing data for the determination of structural and biophysical parameters on the Mediterranean forest ecosystem.

The project's main objective is to combine the use of LIDAR (Laser Imaging Detection And Ranging) and thermal data for estimating the structural and physiological status in forest inventory. The lead partners are looking for European SMEs experienced in forest and landscape management to collaborate inĀ forest measurement and research organisations or universities for the improvement of LIDAR-thermal equipment and the development of a software package for data management.
